OUR HISTORY
What began as a small circle of industry leaders has grown into a global community driving the standards, safety, and innovation behind modern active play.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Before IATP became the association operators rely on today, the industry was growing faster than the systems designed to support it.
Understanding this history makes it clear why our standards, programs, and community exist — and how they continue to support parks and suppliers every day.
In 2011, a group of park owners, builders, and industry experts came together with a shared mission: to raise the standards of a rapidly growing industry that had outpaced its infrastructure. With no safety benchmarks, no shared resources, and no unified voice, they began developing what would become ASTM F2970, the first safety standard for trampoline parks.
That effort sparked something greater. In 2012, they founded the International Adventure & Trampoline Park Association (IATP), the industry’s first trade association, built by operators for operators.
IATP was born from a desire to connect, protect, and elevate the trampoline and adventure park community. Through advocacy, education, networking, and essential tools, we help parks thrive in an increasingly competitive and fast-moving landscape.
Today, IATP supports members with cost-saving programs, expert guidance, and a powerful voice in shaping the industry’s future. With global growth projected through 2032, our role has never been more vital.
What began as a grassroots initiative is now the backbone of an entire industry.
