Jan Platt Memorial Scholarship
The Jan Platt Memorial Scholarship was established in 2021 to honor the life and legacy of Jan Platt, the beloved mother of the International Adventure & Trampoline Park Association’s (IATP) Founding Chair Jeff Platt. Jan was a source of unwavering encouragement and quiet strength, whose belief in her son’s vision helped plant the seeds for what would eventually become a global movement in indoor active entertainment. Although she passed away before she could witness the incredible rise of Sky Zone and the explosive growth of the indoor trampoline park industry, her influence lives on in the heart of the IATP community.
This scholarship serves not only as a tribute to Jan’s enduring spirit and support, but also as a symbol of IATP’s commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders in our industry. It recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional passion, integrity, and potential—qualities Jan embodied every day.
In 2023, we proudly awarded the very first Jan Platt Memorial Scholarship, marking a significant milestone in our association’s history and a meaningful step forward in honoring those who are making a difference in our industry. As we continue this tradition each year, the scholarship remains a powerful reminder that behind every great leader is someone who believed in them first.
About Jan
Jan Platt played a pivotal and deeply influential role in the Sky Zone story, long before the brand became a household name. As both a devoted wife and loving mother, she was the quiet force behind the scenes—encouraging her husband and son to pursue their dreams, even when the road was uncertain and filled with obstacles. Her belief in their vision never wavered. Jan’s story continues to inspire our industry and reminds us all of the power of perseverance, love, and believing in something bigger than ourselves.
